An ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme guided the redesign of the park layout and new playground equipment. The abundance of trees on site contributed the theme based on community workshops.

The park schematic design was a part of Mayor Vincent Gray’s $30 million ‘Play DC’ park renovation initiative, which included 28 city parks.

Forest Hills Park was part of a creative collaboration between The Trust for Public Land, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Department of General Services. SiteWorks Landscape Architecture served as play equipment design sub-consultants.
